Flushing Out the Old!!
Came across this 'fat flush' plan for 3 days and my dear hubby is willing to try it, too. Getting back to 'pre honeymoon, pre-holiday' weight in short order. The plan looks easy, and it is only three days. I figure we can do anything for 3 days.
The plan is to have one of a few breakfasts- 2 hard boiled eggs and half a grapefruit, or a two egg plus 1/2 c. veggie omelet, or 1 1/2 c. greek yogurt with 1 1/2 c. berries. Then the soup comes into play.
The Soup is
1 3/4 c. lean ground beef turkey or chopped chicken
1 tsp. olive oil
1 large onion peeled and chopped
1 large red, yellow or green pepper seeded and chopped
1 large yellow squash chopped
4 cloves chopped garlic
1 bottle reduced sodium tomato or veggie cocktail juice (46 oz)
1 can pinto, garbanzo or black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 Tbs. lime juice
1 Tbs ground cumin
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 c. each fresh cilantro and parsley
1/2c. grated daikon (japanese radish)
1 small peeled and chopped eggplant
1 tsp turmeric
*the basic soup is everything except the last three ingredients. The last three ingredients you are to add for carb cravings/GI distress and bloat, headaches and colds. This is all from for Women First magazine, but the original is the fatflush diet.
We will see. Starting tomorrow. I will post pics and results.
